I finally made my first VCD movie out of XviD movie, but when i play it on my home-dvd player, the picture is flipped horizontally and vertically. Beside that the picture and sound are all good. How do i solve this problem? could this be a XviD issue?

I don' t know what software you've used to create this VCD, but TMPGEnc has options for picture flipping... Anyway, try to prewiew the MPEG-2 result before burning, or use CD-RW to test it in your DVD before final burn. And, yes, picture flipping is a XviD issue, because it uses different kind of overlay.
